Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26/02/2026
This page explains how SmartTranslate.ai uses cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies that are essential for the Service to function and, with your consent, analytics cookies. You manage your consent in the cookie banner.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
- Cookies are small text files stored on a user's device (e.g. a computer or phone).
- They may be session cookies (deleted when the browser is closed) or persistent cookies (stored for a specified period).
- In addition to cookies, similar technologies may be used (e.g. localStorage) to remember preferences and ensure the Service works properly.
2. Which categories of cookies we use
- Essential: required for the basic operation of the Service, security, session maintenance and remembering key preferences. These cookies are always active and cannot be turned off in the banner (because without them the Service would not function properly).
- Analytics (optional): help us measure traffic and understand how users use the Service so we can improve performance and the UX. We only enable these cookies after you give consent.
3. Consent and managing preferences
- When you visit for the first time, a cookie banner is displayed where you can accept all cookies or choose only the essential ones.
- You can change or withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time by reopening the settings in the banner (or by deleting cookies in your browser).
- Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.
4. Examples of cookies used in the Service
- Consent preferences: cookie set by the banner mechanism (e.g. "cc_cookie") to remember the user's choices.
- Language preferences: cookie that remembers the selected language variant (e.g. "smartTranslate_language").
- Analytics (after consent): cookies from analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics: "_ga", "_gid" and related variants).
- Authentication (if sign-in is available): session cookies from the sign-in provider may be used to maintain the session and security.
5. Analytics providers and operating modes
- The Service may use Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2 and Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- We load and activate analytics tools in line with your choices in the cookie banner. If you do not consent to the analytics category, we do not activate analytics cookies and limit tracking to the scope permitted by law.
- Details about the processing of personal data in connection with analytics can be found in the Privacy Policy.
6. How to manage cookies in your browser yourself
- You can delete cookies and block them from being stored in your browser settings.
- Blocking essential cookies may cause the Service to function incorrectly (e.g. problems signing in or saving settings).
